The Concrete Foundation Block project involved the structural design and engineering of a reinforced concrete foundation developed to safely transfer concentrated loads into the subsoil. AR-TEC was responsible for delivering a robust, code-compliant solution focused on structural safety, durability, and constructability.
Design Focus: Load Transfer & Structural Reliability
The foundation block, with approximate dimensions of 2.5 × 2.5 × 1.2 meters, was engineered to withstand high vertical forces while maintaining sufficient resistance against cracking, shear forces, and long-term material degradation. The design emphasized reliable load distribution and long-term performance under demanding conditions.
Structural Analysis & Eurocode Design
A detailed structural analysis was carried out in accordance with Eurocode 2 (EC2), considering material behavior, governing load combinations, and environmental exposure classes. Both strength and serviceability criteria were verified to ensure compliance and structural integrity.
Reinforcement Design & Detailing
AR-TEC designed and detailed the full reinforcement layout, including top, bottom, and flank reinforcement. Special attention was given to anchorage lengths, lap splices, shear capacity, and crack control to ensure structural efficiency and ease of construction.
Construction Drawings & Execution Support
Fully coordinated construction drawings and reinforcement layouts were produced to support accurate and efficient execution on site. The detailing was optimized to minimize construction risk while maintaining compliance with design requirements.
